The Centre for Behavioural Science and its affiliated units operate under the Socio-Economic Education Development and Charitable Trust (SEED-TRUST KERALA). The Trust is dedicated to purely educational and charitable activities aimed at benefiting humanity.

 

MAIN OBJECTIVES


The primary objectives of the Trust are to undertake educational and charitable activities for the welfare of society. These include:

 

A. GENERAL PUBLIC UTILITY


Research and Study Facilities:

Establish facilities for research and study into the causes and solutions of various problems faced by the public in their daily lives.

Provide information and awareness about these issues and their remedies.

Personal and Social Growth:

Promote measures for personal and social development to enable individuals to live in peace and harmony.

 

Training Programs:

Organize training programs in counseling, leadership, and rural development for both trained and untrained individuals.

Empower participants to become agents of social change.

Institutions and Centers:

Establish, maintain, and operate research institutions, educational institutions, technical institutes, schools, colleges, counseling centers, human resource centers, and rehabilitation centers.

Focus on helping individuals facing spiritual, mental, physical, emotional, or social challenges.

Community Service:

Offer services to assist people in difficult situations.

Promote universal brotherhood through inter-religious celebrations, meetings, seminars, and collaborative programs with like-minded organizations.

Youth Development:

Develop personal growth and leadership qualities in youth through training programs, activities, guidance, and counseling, including vocational guidance.

Cultural and Spiritual Values:

Promote cultural, social, and spiritual values by providing a platform for sharing ideas and honoring the contributions of social and religious reformers.

Encourage spiritual awakening and inner peace through prayers and spiritual guidance.

Study and Research:

Promote the study and research of social, cultural, and spiritual traditions through comparative and critical analysis of religions.

 

Community Amenities:

Establish and support public reading rooms, libraries, and prayer halls.

Assist in the renovation of temples, mosques, churches, and other places of worship recognized under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act.

 

Economic Empowerment:

Organize tailoring classes, typing institutes, small-scale industries, and agriculture-related ventures to encourage self-employment.

Improve the economic status of socially and economically disadvantaged women and support poor students in continuing their education.

 

Social Welfare:

Assist in marriages of socially and economically backward women.

Provide support for hospitalization, education, and the establishment of schools, hospitals, and old-age homes.

 

B. EDUCATION


Educational Institutions:

Establish, maintain, and support schools, colleges, polytechnics, vocational training centers, and research institutions.

Focus on innovative human resource development, nursing, B.Ed, teacher training, adult education, and non-formal education.

 

Rehabilitation Centers:

Provide homes, hostels, and schools for displaced individuals, including ragpickers, unmarried mothers, widows, school dropouts, prisoners, addicts, and sexually exploited individuals.

Scholarships and Awards:

Offer scholarships, stipends, medals, and prizes to deserving students, scholars, teachers, and needy individuals to support their education.

Social Awareness:

Educate people on social concerns, communal harmony, and national integration.

Libraries and Reading Rooms:

Establish and maintain traditional and IT-based book banks, libraries, and public reading rooms.

 

Lectures and Seminars:

Organize lectures, seminars, and symposiums on Indian culture, religion, arts, science, technology, agriculture, and commerce.

 

C. MEDICAL RELIEF


Healthcare Facilities:

Establish, maintain, and support hospitals, clinics, dispensaries, old-age homes, and medical research units.

Focus on modern and traditional systems of medicine, including Ayurveda, Siddha, and magnet therapy.

 

Medical Camps:

Organize free medical camps in rural, backward, and remote areas.

D. RELIEF TO THE POOR


Community Support:

Construct community halls and rest houses and provide food for the poor.

Support orphanages, rescue centers, and rehabilitation centers.

Emergency Relief:

Provide cash grants, clothing, shelter, blood, and health support during natural calamities, accidents, and emergencies.

 

Underprivileged Support:

Assist women, rural and urban poor, the uneducated, and the unemployed to improve their educational, social, economic, and cultural well-being.

INCIDENTAL OBJECTIVES

Collaboration:

Partner with voluntary organizations and government agencies for developmental and relief programs.

 

Seminars and Workshops:

Conduct seminars, consultations, study programs, and work camps to promote the Trust's objectives.

 

Cooperative Societies:

Establish and manage youth clubs, health centers, schools, hostels, and educational institutions.

 

Fund Management:

Raise funds through donations, endowments, and contributions from India and abroad.

Invest funds as per Section 11(5) and Section 13(1)(d) of the Income Tax Act, 1961.

 

Property and Assets:

Acquire, manage, and utilize movable and immovable properties to further the Trust's objectives.
